Franchise player Turkey Stearnes jumped the team to play in the east with the Lincoln Giants but returned at mid-season to power the Stars to the second-half title in a split season. Stearnes, Crush Holloway, and Wade Johnston formed a fast outfield while thirdbaseman Bobby Robinson and shortstop Jake Dunn supplied strong defense on the left side of the infield. Manager Bingo DeMoss guided the Stars to the second-half title in the split season, but lost the League Championship Series to the St. Louis Stars. |
